When I realized dear, sweet Aunt Grace would be 100 years old if she were alive this coming year 2011, I wanted to make a tribute to this anniversary of her birth. She was born on April 4th 1911 in Waco, Ohio. I decided to make this quilt to honor this event. If you look at the picture of the kit notice the pink dogtooth around the blocks. The pink pyramids represent pink candles. There are 25 candles per side, thus the four sides add up to 100 years for her Birthday! This kit is definitely an intermediate level. If you are a beginner and have never pieced miniatures.
